Sovereign Topwater Bucktails
:Our Sovereign Topwater Bucktails are held afloat by the large wood bulb in front, which also supplies the noise & action.
They sit tail down at rest until you start to work them.
On a slow retrieve they sound like a rat or water vole swimming & are quite subtle.
On a fast retrieve or when ripped they sound like a moorhen or a dab-chick running across the top in full flight.
Above are two examples of what the topwater bucktails look like when first made awaiting the fitting of hooks.
On the left is the larger two hook double bucktail model & the single hook & single bucktail on the right.
All quoted lengths are approximate as bucktail length varies & tying will also affect the length.
The two hook model has one hook in front of the bucktail & one buried in the bucktail & the single hook model has just the one buried in the bucktail.

Stock colours can be put together in about 4 days like our bucktails, as & when we can insert them in to the production run.
First choose the model/size you want, then pick your bulb colour, Brass or nickel for the body, bucktail / marabou colour & finally your hook choice.
These components are then assembled on 1.5mm 600lb BS 316 stainless steel wire, with worth heavy grade split rings & VMC trebles or Cox & Rawle in line singles.
There is no point you ordering a special colour for delivery in the next few days, It wont happen !
The bulbs have to be primed, painted & varnished & that all takes about three days & then the varnish takes around a week to harden fully before it can be packed, let alone fished.
The bodies, beads, & hook holders are all from worth in the states. The bulbs are made exclusively for us in the states, & we tie the bucktail tubes here in Devon from premium salt water bucktails from the rocky mountain dubbing company. We don't scrimp on materials, you get a top quality product.
The bottom right hand picture shows 6 stock bulb colours kept on hand, the two top pictures show 21 buck tails colour combinations kept on hand, choices from these pictures can be assembled in 4 days.
The picture labeled :-Example custom colours, shows a few custom colours that can be made to order, however we will always make more than we need so we might still be able to get them out to you quickly (message/email us to see), but as a rule these colours take a week to make, all down to drying times.
We are always trying out new paint finishes & foil combinations & the results of our experimentation's can be seen below (when we have some spares to sell)
